Recertification
Every Bio Matrix-certified refurbished pipette goes through the same process we use for our calibration service clients — disassembly, cleaning, OEM-compatible parts replacement, and gravimetric verification against ISO 8655. For labs that require formal documentation, NIST-traceable calibration certificates are available as an add-on.
Complete disassembly. All components — piston, O-rings, seals, ejection mechanism, shaft — are inspected against OEM specification before any work begins.
Ultrasonic bath and chemical decontamination. Internal and external surfaces cleaned to remove biological and chemical residue from prior lab use.
O-rings, seals, pistons, and ejection assemblies replaced as needed. We use OEM-compatible parts — not substitutes. Worn or marginal components are not reused.
Volume accuracy verified on a NIST-traceable analytical balance at three test points per ISO 8655. Each measurement is recorded — not just pass/fail, but the actual values.
If any measurement falls outside spec, the instrument is adjusted and re-tested until it passes. Units that cannot be brought into spec are removed from inventory.
For GLP, GMP, and CAP-accredited labs that require formal documentation, a NIST-traceable calibration certificate can be issued per unit — including the actual measured values at each test point. Available at additional cost; request it with your quote.
The recertification process is the same for every unit. The difference is documentation — certificate issuance is an add-on for labs that require it.
