Decontaminate & Ship
All instruments must be decontaminated from radioactivity, bio-hazardous material, and toxic substances before shipping.
We Service & Calibrate
Orders are processed first-come-first-served. Most calibration orders complete within 3–5 business days of receipt at our facility. Orders requiring non-stock parts may take longer — we notify you before proceeding.
Returned with Documentation
Your calibrated pipettes ship back with a NIST-traceable Certificate of Calibration, performed in accordance with ISO 8655 and manufacturer specifications. Expedited return shipping available at additional cost.
Bio Matrix maintains a stock of over 800 different replacement parts covering nearly every brand and model. Over 90% of these are OEM parts. All non-OEM parts are validated through quality control before use.
Decontamination Required
All instruments must be decontaminated from radioactivity, bio-hazardous material, and toxic substances before shipping. A decontamination form will be provided with your service confirmation.
Mail-in service is available from any U.S. lab with no minimum instrument count — making it the right choice for smaller labs, facilities outside the Eastern US, and situations where cost matters more than same-day turnaround. Labs in the Eastern US with 10 or more pipettes may prefer on-site service for zero instrument downtime.

How long does mail-in calibration take?
Most calibration orders complete within 3–5 business days of receipt at our facility. Transit time is separate and not included in that window. Orders requiring non-stock parts may take longer — we contact you for approval before proceeding with any extended-timeline work.
Is there a minimum number of pipettes required for mail-in service?
No. Mail-in accepts any quantity — from a single pipette to a batch of any size. It's especially practical for smaller labs and one-off calibration needs.
What decontamination do I need to do before shipping?
All instruments must be decontaminated from radioactivity, biohazardous material, and toxic substances before shipping. A decontamination form is provided with your service confirmation and must accompany the shipment.
How do I pack and ship my pipettes?
You'll receive packing instructions with your service confirmation. In general: use the original cases or equivalent cushioning, ship in a box — not a padded envelope — and insure the shipment for replacement value. We're not responsible for damage caused by inadequate packing.
What if my pipettes need repairs, not just calibration?
We inspect every instrument during service and identify any issues requiring repair. If parts are in stock, repairs are completed in the same order. If non-stock parts are needed, we contact you before proceeding so you can approve the additional cost and timeline.
What's included in the certificate, and who accepts it?
Mail-in orders produce the same NIST-traceable Certificate of Calibration (ISO 8655) as on-site service. Certificates are reviewed, signed, and delivered digitally. Accepted by CAP, CLIA, FDA, GLP, and GMP auditors.
