Services / Northern Florida
Bio Matrix Inc. provides on-site pipette and balance calibration in Northern Florida — including Jacksonville, the Panhandle (Pensacola, Tallahassee, Panama City), and the St. Augustine area. Labs in Central and Southern Florida (Miami, Orlando, Tampa) are not in our on-site service area but can use our statewide mail-in program.
Our Florida service area covers the northern third of the state — from the Jacksonville metro and Northeast Florida coastline west through Tallahassee and across the Gulf Coast Panhandle to Pensacola. This corridor includes several major research and clinical institutions: Mayo Clinic Jacksonville is a nationally recognized destination medical and research campus; UF Health Jacksonville provides a significant academic medical center presence; Florida State University and FAMU anchor Tallahassee's research community; and Navy facilities along the Panhandle bring additional calibration demand from defense-adjacent research programs.
On-site calibration is available for Northern Florida facilities with 10 or more pipettes. Our technician arrives at your location with calibration standards, tools, and more than 800 OEM replacement parts in stock — pipettes are calibrated, repaired if needed, and returned to service the same day. Facilities that fall within our on-site coverage area do not need to ship instruments and can schedule recurring annual or semi-annual visits.
For labs in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and Central or Southern Florida, on-site service is not currently available. Mail-in calibration is the right answer for those locations — the same NIST-traceable certificates, 10-point inspection, and OEM parts are available through our mail-in program from any Florida zip code, with digital certificate delivery within 5–7 business days of receipt.

On-site service is currently available in Jacksonville, Northeast FL, the Panhandle (Pensacola, Tallahassee, Panama City, Fort Walton Beach), and the St. Augustine area. Labs in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and South/Central Florida should use our mail-in program — the same certified service, statewide.
On-site routes cover Northern Florida. Mail-in service is available from any Florida zip code — including Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and all of Central and Southern FL.
Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and UF Health Jacksonville are the anchors of Northeast Florida's clinical and research lab community. On-site service is available for facilities with 10 or more instruments.
Florida State University research labs, FAMU science programs, and state government reference laboratories operate under academic GLP and public health compliance frameworks. On-site service available.
Panhandle clinical labs, regional hospitals, and Navy research facilities along the Gulf Coast. On-site service available throughout the Panhandle corridor.
Clinical laboratories and regional medical facilities serving Northeast Florida's growing coastal communities. On-site service available in this corridor.
UF/IFAS research operations and UF Health Shands are significant lab sites near the northern service boundary. Mail-in service is recommended for Gainesville; contact us to confirm on-site availability.
Labs in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and all of Central and Southern Florida are not currently in our on-site service area. Mail-in service is available statewide — ship from any FL zip code, no minimum instrument count.
Florida clinical laboratories — whether operating within large health systems like Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, UF Health, or regional community hospitals — are subject to CLIA certification and, in many cases, CAP accreditation. Both frameworks require documented pipette calibration at defined intervals, with records that include instrument identification, calibration date, traceability to NIST reference standards, and performance data at tested volumes. Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) also conducts state-level laboratory inspections that include instrument calibration record review.
Bio Matrix calibration certificates are built to satisfy these requirements in full. Each document includes the specific instrument's make, model, and serial number; the calibration date; the NIST-traceable measurement standards used; results at each tested volume point; and clear pass/fail determinations against ISO 8655 accuracy and precision tolerances. Level 3 service — which records as-found performance before any adjustment — is the appropriate tier for research labs at FSU, FAMU, or UF that need historical instrument data for grant compliance or GLP protocols.
Balance calibration is available throughout Northern Florida and by mail-in statewide. Analytical balances used in clinical or research workflows can be serviced alongside pipettes on the same visit, with certificates delivered digitally in a unified package accepted by CAP, CLIA, and federal program auditors.
