Levels of Service

We at Bio Matrix, Inc recognize that every lab has its own specific needs, requirements and constraints for certification, documentation and most importantly budget. Keeping this in mind we have designed various levels of service, to suit every laboratories needs and budgets. The levels of service are classified only on the amount of documentation that is needed by the client and not by the quality of service provided.

Level 1 service is mostly used by university labs and teaching labs which do not require extra documentation. This service comes with a Quality assurance worksheet if requested by the client.

Level 2 service includes along with level one service, extra computerized documentation stating post calibration data of the pipettes. This level of service is mainly used by labs involved in clinical research or those monitored by GLP regulations.

Level 3 service includes computerized documentation of each pipette, listing pre and post calibration data of every instrument. This level of service is used mainly by private and public sector labs and labs monitored by GMP/GLP regulations.

LEVEL 1

  1. IDENTIFICATION OF PIPETTES Pipettes are identified and indexed based on their serial number, make, and size. The next due date of calibration is usually One year from the date of service, unless otherwise specified by the client or as per the clients SOP.
  2. Calibration and Preventive Maintenance applications. Internal and external inspection of pipettes. Disassembly of pipettes. Internal and external cleaning of pipettes. Replacement of seals and “o” rings, or greasing as applicable, depending on the manufacturer. Replacement of other broken or worn out parts as required. Calibration of pipette, gravimetrically at three levels with five readings at each level as per BioMatrix, Inc’s SOP, or as per the clients SOP if one is provided. Sticker with details of, service provider’s name, phone number, date of service, next due date and the techs name to be affixed to the pipette that meets the standards of the agreed calibration specifications. All equipment used by BioMatrix, Inc in the process of calibration is traceable through NIST. Quality assurance worksheet will be provided to client upon request.

LEVEL 2

  2. Calibration and Preventive Maintenance applications. Internal and external inspection of pipettes. Disassembly of pipettes. Internal and external cleaning of pipettes. Replacement of seals and “o” rings, or greasing as applicable, depending on the manufacturer. Replacement of other broken or worn out parts as required. Calibration of pipette, gravimetrically at three levels with five readings at each level as per BioMatrix, Inc’s SOP, or as per the clients SOP if one is provided. Sticker with details of, service provider’s name, phone number, date of service, next due date and the techs name to be affixed to the pipette that meets the standards of the agreed calibration specifications.   3. Computerized documentation. Documentation lists all pipette identification data along with the exisisting environmental conditions at the time of calibration. It also lists the serial numbers of all the instruments used by BioMatrix, Inc With their calibration information. It will specify the tolerance limits as per which the instrument was calibrated. It will state the data of measurment, of each individual pipette at three levels with five readings at each level. It will calculate the pass/fail status of the pipette as per the post calibration data on the document.

LEVEL 3

This documentation along with the information from level 3 service will also list five readings at three levels, these readings will be taken prior to calibration and will be termed as pre calibration data on the Work sheet. The work sheet will also calculate the Pass/Fail status of the pipette in its pre calibration state and also in its post calibration state and then the overall status of the pipette.
